Commonwealth v. J.B. – Multiple Larceny cases

8/7/14
– Quincy District Court
– Quincy Police
– Client was placed on probation with Quincy Drug Court two years ago with an 18 month suspended sentence hanging over his head. Due to several issues, Client did not complete his requirements and failed to complete his drug court probation. While on warrant status, Client contacted Attorney Seed and the two worked closely in finding treatment and rehab programs. Client was able to get sober and maintain that sobriety for over a year until he was finally arrested on the outstanding warrants. Attorney Seed approached the probation officer who runs the drug court a week in advance of Client’s probation surrender hearing and discussed in depth everything that client had done during his time away from drug court. Attorney Seed then participated in a drug court meeting with the probation officer and judge and convinced them to not sentence Client to his 18 month suspended status. Instead, he was released from jail today on a GPS monitor and will attend and complete a 30 week outpatient program. Client, who has been an addict for his entire adult life, is finally clean and a husband to his wife and father to his two beautiful daughters. He stated to Attorney Seed, “people like me don’t get this chance in life, but you’ve given it to me and I will be the family man I never thought I could be.”
